Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering the competition. By entering, you indicate that you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.
1. Promoter
The competition is organised by Mont Blanc Treks Ltd (“the Promoter”) in partnership with Cicerone Press Limited (“Cicerone”).

2. Eligibility
The competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of age and identity may be required.
Employees of Mont Blanc Treks Ltd, Cicerone Press Limited, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the competition are
not eligible to enter.
Entrants must have long-distance walking experience and an excellent level of fitness appropriate for a multi-day alpine trek.
3. How to Enter
Entry is via the official competition form on the Mont Blanc Treks website.
Only one entry per person is permitted. Duplicate or incomplete entries will be disqualified.
Entries must be made directly by the individual entering. Automated entries or those submitted via third parties will not be accepted.
Entry is free of charge. No purchase is necessary.
4. Competition Dates
The competition opens on 1st May 2026 and closes at 9:00am (BST-UK time) on 8th July 2026 (“the Closing Date”).
Entries received after the Closing Date will be not be valid.
5. Prize Details
One winner will receive:
A guided trekking trip for one person on the Alta Via 1 (Italian Dolomites) from 9–18 September 2026 (fixed dates).
9 nights’ accommodation (shared twin rooms and/or dormitory accommodation in hotels and mountain refuges).
9 breakfasts and 7 evening meals, as per the published itinerary.
8 days of guided trekking with a UIMLA-qualified International Mountain Leader.
One copy of Alta Via 1 – Trekking in the Dolomites by Gillian Price, published by Cicerone.
Three runners-up will each receive:
One copy of Alta Via 1 – Trekking in the Dolomites by Gillian Price, published by Cicerone.
The prize does NOT include:
International or domestic travel to/from the trek start point
Travel insurance (mandatory)
Personal equipment
Meals not specified in the itinerary
Personal expenses
6. Prize Conditions
The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash alternative.
The trip must be taken on the specified dates and cannot be changed.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.
If the trip cannot operate due to weather, safety, or operational reasons, the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative date or alternative prize.
7. Winner Selection
The winner will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received before the Closing Date.
The draw will take place within 7 days of the Closing Date.
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Winner Notification & Requirements
The winner will be notified by telephone using the contact details provided at entry. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. A follow-up email may also be sent.
The winner must respond within 24 hours of the initial notification attempt to confirm acceptance of the prize. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within this timeframe, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner.
Upon acceptance of the prize, the winner must complete a trekking experience and fitness declaration form within 48 hours.
If the winner does not return the form within this timeframe or does not meet the required level of fitness and experience, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and offer it to an alternative eligible entrant.
The winner must ensure they are medically fit to participate and must obtain appropriate travel insurance covering trekking activities.
9. Publicity
The winner may be invited to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the competition.
This may include use of their name, general location, and photographs.
10. Intellectual Property
By entering, you grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use your entry for promotional purposes related to the competition.
11. General
The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, or corrupted.
In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final.
In the event of a conflict between these Terms and any promotional material, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
These Terms are governed by English law, and entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
12. Data Protection
Personal data will be processed by Mont Blanc Treks Ltd for the purposes of administering the competition.
Data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation. If you do not opt in to receive marketing communications, your data will be deleted
within one month of the competition closing.
Entry is not conditional on consenting to marketing communications.
13. Winner Information
The winner’s surname and country of residence may be obtained by sending a request to the Promoter, no earlier than 6 weeks after the Closing Date, unless the
winner objects.
