We think it’s important to keep you updated with what is happening here in France that affects our travel company. We have had contact with many of you and know how much you want to get back out there again and have something to look forward to! We feel the same. Our close-to-home walks each day make us thankful to be here – but tease us as well, because we can see all the positive effects that the lockdown has had on our environment – but can’t get out there to experience it fully yet!

Italy, the worst affected country close to us, is finally on the downturn of the virus – a little ahead of France and is now able to think ahead rather than deal with the day-to-day difficulties they have had. The local hospitals in Geneva, Switzerland are at 50% capacity and are taking patients from France to help ease pressure points – wonderful that we are working together in this way.

Thanks to the strict measures we have followed for the last month, Covid-19 is thankfully now plateauing in France and our president, Mr Macron has very clearly spelt out his plans for the gradual lifting of our lockdown here in Chamonix & France. We are to stay in our homes until the 11th May in order to minimise the spread of the virus & look after our vulnerable people during this pandemic. Then from that date gradual lifting will begin over the weeks that follow when once again Chamonix will be able to enjoy all the shops, cafes, hotels and restaurants that have been closed since our lockdown began.

So we finally have something tangible to look forward to…Hooray!

We have been working with our accommodation and support team since lockdown to make sure that when it is safe to do so, we will be able to guide you, once again, on the wonderful mountain hiking trails we know and love so well.
The refuges and hotels that we work with have agreed new dates for us throughout August and September, so we will soon be able to offer you new dates, later in the season as well as some more choices towards the end of the summer holidays.

Please get in touch if you have any questions regarding trekking in the mountains. We will ensure that we keep you posted on what it's like over here and here are some updated resources to help you make informed decisions about future travel plans.
