Where to Stay on the Tour du Mont Blanc

You will receive a welcome in the great mountain tradition, situated in the centre of Chamonix, treat yourself to the pleasures of this vibrant setting. Facilities private en-suite rooms, bar, lounge, restaurant and sauna.

The Hotel du Bois is situated in Les Houches the 3* Hotel du Bois features an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, 2 saunas and free Wi-Fi in charming surroundings.

The Hotel Campanules is situated above Les Houches on the descent from Parc Merlet. The hotel has fabulous views facing Mont Blanc, a spa including a sauna, hammam, fitness room, bar and lounge area.

The Hotel Christiania is ideally situated just a step from the centre of the village, the 2* hotel Christiania welcomes you for your stay. The hotel has a cosy traditional restaurant, outdoor swimming pool and bedrooms with en-suite facilities.

The Chalet Hotel Gai Soleil is a charming hotel and was once a family farm in the mountains. It has been renovated with care and furnished with an aim to preserve all its rustic character and warmth. It is conveniently located near the centre of Les Contamines yet is nestled in its own garden and sun terrace. From the hotel you'ill find a spectacular view of the Montjoie valley. The hotel has private en-suite rooms and free wifi.

This is a pinch-point on the Tour du Mont Blanc, accommodation is limited and demand far outstretches supply. We have two choices on this night:

Refuge Nova is situated in the tiny hamlet of Chapieux, this is the most remote section of the TMB. The refuge offers dormitory accommodation and private rooms, shared bathrooms with hot showers. Evening meal and breakfast.

The Refuge Mottets is located on the Tour du Mont Blanc route below the Col du Seigne. The refuge has great atmosphere with dormitory accommodation and private twin rooms, shared bathrooms, hot showers and good food.

No WIFI available at each accommodation and no phone signal. Picnic would need to be ordered from the accommodation although there is a tiny shop in Chapieux if staying there.

We always try to reserve private rooms at the Refuge Nova. In the event that this isn’t possible, we arrange private minibus transport to alternative accommodation in Bourg-St-Maurice, returning to Les Chapieux early the following morning.

The owners are happy to welcome you in the 3* Hotel Crampon. The hotel entirely renovated offers to the guests a warm and friendly atmosphere between modernity and tradition. Facilities include: En-suite rooms, bar, lounge and laundry service.

The family-run Hotel Croux is near Courmayeur's pedestrian area. Rooms either feature a large balcony or offer a splendid view of Mount Blanc. Simply designed and furnished, the Croux features a TV room with free internet point, and a games room with free billiards and children's games. The small fitness area includes sauna and a Turkish bath. All rooms at Croux Hotel offer a private bathroom, and a TV. The comfortable breakfast room has views of Mont Blanc.

This is another pinch-point on the Tour du Mont Blanc, accommodation is limited and demand far outstretches supply. We have three options:

Hotel Lavachey and Chalet Val Ferret. Auberge style basic accommodation with private rooms, good food and fabulous views.

Refuge Bonatti is located at an altitude of 2025m, it was opened on August 2, 1998 and was named after the world famous alpinist Walter Bonatti and explorer. Facilities: Dormitory accommodation and twin rooms (supplement), hot showers and good food.

Picnic would need to be ordered from the accommodation.

We always aim to reserve private rooms when staying in Val Ferret; however, if this isn’t possible, we arrange a third night in Courmayeur and return by bus at the end of the day. This does not affect the TMB route in any way, as the bus on takes us back to the exact point where we left the trail.

The Hotel Edelweiss is a small 3* chalet-hotel in the heart of the Fouly. It offers 20 hotel rooms, all with shower or bath and WC and cable TV they also have several dormitories for 7 to 10 people. Other facilities include bar and comfortable lounge with Wi-Fi.

The Hotel Col du Ferret is small typical Swiss mountain inn, located in the small hamlet of Ferret, on the stage of the Tour du Mont Blanc at the foot of Mont Dolent, 2 kilometres before La Fouly. The Auberge offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with comfortable facilities, fabulous home cooking with Swiss and Italian specialties. The Auberge has an outdoor terrace/ beer garden with the unforgettable views of the Glaciers du Dolent.

Comfortable rooms including some that overlook the lake are equipped with shower or bath, Toilet, TV, telephone and radio. The Hotel du Glacier has a fantastic restaurant offering modern and traditional cuisine.

This is another pinch-point on the Tour du Mont Blanc and Walkers Haute Route, accommodation is limited and demand far outstretches supply.

We have two choices here:

The Auberge Grand Ourse is our first choice and is located at 1300m in the village of Trient. The auberge has been recently refurbished and has rooms and dormitories with shared facilities (hot showers and WC). The auberge has a cosy bar and restaurant serving local food.

Auberge Mont Blanc located next door to the Grand Ours offers dormitory accommodation and private rooms. Shared bathrooms (hot showers and WC). Terrace bar and dining area serving local food.

Picnic would need to be ordered from the accommodation.

Hotel La Couronne is situated in the alpine village of Argentiere. The bedrooms are traditional and furnished with TV, private bathroom with shower or bathtub. Free Wi-Fi access. Les Cheserys Restaurant serves homemade Savoyard Tradition Menus in a magnificent mountain setting.
