So you’ve signed up for a high-altitude adventure trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Now is the time to ensure you’re physically prepared so you can fully enjoy the experience. The Annapurna trek is a serious challenge, and solid preparation is essential to make the most of your journey.

The Annapurna region offers breathtaking Himalayan views and a truly unforgettable trekking experience, in terms of mountainous terrain, this is the roof of the world! Expect a variety of different terrain, from wide footpaths to rugged steep ascents and significant elevation changes. In the Himalayas, the challenge often lies not just in the distance but in the altitude and terrain. Familiarise yourself with the daily trekking stats so you know what to expect.

ANNAPURNA GUIDED TREK GRADING – GRADE 4: TOUGHEST

Treks are graded 1 to 4 (easy to toughest), and the Annapurna guided trek is at the highest level - Grade 4. This is a demanding route, physically and mentally. You’ll be trekking through high mountain passes, remote villages, and exposed trails, often above 3,000m. On average, expect to walk 15–18km (10–12 miles) a day with consistent elevation gain and loss, and challenging sections that require endurance and good fitness.
