TMB Update 21 June 2025
21/06/2025

It has continued to be very warm here, with temperature of 35 degrees in the valley. The trails are now pretty much in good condition however there are a few notable sections.
Here is an update...
Day 1 Via the Col du Brevent: Still a couple of challenging patches over the back side near to the ladders to be careful when crossing.
Day 2 Via Col du Tricot: no problem.
Day 3 & 4 Les Contamines to Courmayeur via Chapieux:
Conditions are completely fine over the Bonhomme & Col de La Seigne. No spikes needed. Very occasional short, easy snow patches. Most wore trail shoes.
BUT care needed crossing the SNOW BRIDGE over the stream just before the last short uphill to the Croix du Bonhomme.
You absolutely DO NOT need to cross this. Go up the rock slabs to the left a little further and that is the normal stream crossing location. There are boulders to cross on…no wet feet!

Day 5: Courmayeur to Chalet Val Ferret: No problems on the traversing route from Rifugio Bertoni
Day 6 Chalet Val Ferret to la Fouly: No spikes required, some small patches of snow remaining but easily navigated.
Day 7 La Fouly to Champex: No Problem
Day 8 Champex to Trient: Avalanche debris on the way up to Bovine, see photo. Easily passable.
Day 9 Trient to Argentiere: No problems.
Day 10 Argentiere to Chamonix: No problems.

We have many groups out on the TMB now, more groups guided and self guided groups arrive this weekend. We consider this to be our final trail condition report on the TMB as things are constantly improving each day.
